Blair Conklin

Laguna Beach, CA
I was born and raised in Laguna Beach, the birthplace of skimboarding. I grew up on a stretch of coast that was much better for skimboarding than surfing. I started skimboarding at age 4 and by age 15 I was competing professionally. I was a solid student in high school and managed to combine my love of the ocean with my extracurricular activities by starting a club that partnered with Waves for Water. At the time, Rob Machado was an ambassador and he inspired me to get involved in fundraising to purchase and deliver water filtration systems to communities in need in Angola.

He followed that up with a win at the Quiksilver Pro France and his first ASP World Tour title at the Hang Loose Pro Brazil, ending the year ahead of Slater.

Mason Ho

North Shore, Oahu
It’s hard to say what’s more interesting, a surfer with an infectiously fun personality, a surfer whose family is steeped in Hawaiian wave riding history, or a surfer who attacks some of the most insane waves in the world. Mason Ho is all three. The North Shore’s most quirky personality is the son of Michael Ho and nephew of Hawaii’s first world champion, Derek. The famous brothers owned Pipeline and made their mark on the World Tour in the 1980s and ’90s. And his sister Coco just happens to be one of the most dominant surfers on the Women’s Tour.

Victoria Vergara

Capbreton, France
We tend to think of beauty in a box, limited by what we’re told it should be. But true beauties like Victoria Vergara are natural—they live a natural life in the salt-filled air and on the wave-filled sea. Vergara, the Reef ambassador from Hossegor, France, wasn’t drawn to modeling. She was drawn to the sea from a young age. Her parents traveled the world and moved to Reunion Island when she was 14, where she mastered the art of the stepover and long turns. A self-proclaimed tomboy, she wasn’t interested in makeup or fashion. When the first modeling offers came, she turned them down. She chose to live by the beach and surf rather than model in Paris.

Mike Lay

Cornwall, UK
There’s something about someone who seems to move effortlessly. That’s how Mike Lay has lived his entire life. Cornwall, on the British coast, isn’t exactly known for its heavy surf. That’s why Lay picked up a longboard early in his surfing life. He turned out to be pretty good at it – one of the best, in fact. As a teenager, he was competing and winning awards all over Europe.

Kepa Acero

Basque Country, Spain
After traveling the world on the WQS Tour, Mundaka’s Kepa Acero didn’t find what he needed in life. Instead of focusing on competing and being stuck on one thing in life, he decided he needed to explore his other interests in the world. With very little knowledge behind the lens, Kepa bought a few cameras, got a ticket to travel the world, and set out to document the people, cultures, and waves he encountered. It’s a completely different perspective, but one that has taken him on a “5 Waves, 5 Continents” tour to some of surfing’s most legendary waves, the equivalent of mountain climbers scaling eight 8,000-meter peaks. He’s been named Epic TV’s “Adventurer of the Year,” but the real reward is the experience.

He has authored several peer-reviewed publications in the field of molecular bioscience, as well as producing a handful of award-winning films on indigenous activism, ocean conservation, global food security, and virtual reality. He has been featured in publications such as The New York Times, NBC, CBS, Surfline, and many more. Cliff is also the co-founder of the MEGA (Multi-scale Environmental Graphical Analysis) lab with his partner John Burnes, which specializes in studying coral health. It is a global consortium of scientists, athletes, and artists who use science to improve our planet. Cliff currently lives in Hilo and tinkers in the lab when he’s not chasing the planet’s best waves.

Most of the time you can find this surf-mad grom traveling the world with his dad or friends via his insta @jackson_dorian , but when he’s not, the Dorian domain is living life outside of the resort in the woods around Kona, Big Island of Hawaii.
